Censorship lives: I am banned from X
Looks like a rogue moderator. Can anybody help get me reinstated?
On Friday, June 20, I received the following email:
First my account said it was suspended, then about an hour later it transitioned to a “does not exist” state. Because of this, my followers who are exclusive to X think I voluntarily left.
At first I was confused as to why it says “does not exist”, but now I believe it is to mislead my follows and obscure one fact: censorship is alive and well at X.
I have received no information explaining the ban, and I can’t even log in to appeal the ban because the account has been locked.
It’s very likely that somebody at X wants me gone quietly, with no chance of appeal. They don’t want to raise alarms that I was banned.
Why did this happen?
This happened because I suffered from two outrage mobs spread out over 2 weeks. I didn’t get banned during the first outrage mob, which indicates that my posts didn’t violate any policies. Later, much delayed, after a new outrage mob found my 2 week old post, they likely grew big enough to find a sympathetic employee at X who then sneak-banned my account.
The mobs were outraged because I defended the opinion that the legal minimum age for marriage should be 15 years old for women. This is the law in about half of the polities on Earth right now, including every single one I have ever lived in, and likewise is basically universal in history.
I also posted some photos of the rings and hands of my wife and I. I stated I am in my early twenties, and she is in her late teens. Some members of the mob misread a tweet stating that my wife is in her teens, and I think 15 is old enough for marriage in most cases, to mean that she is 15, even though in that very thread I stated she is over 18 and done with school. I made this comment in response to someone else saying my wife is “close to 15” and that she personally was a “little child” when she was 15 and that “teenagers should never be married”.
This was untrue for myself, I was already fully grown at 15, so I argued on this point. But I never said my wife is 15; she is in fact over 18. Where we live, the minimum legal age of marriage is 15, so we are both many years over the minimum legal age for our marriage. She has been over 18 the whole time I have known her.
It turned out this is very unpopular; here is a chart of loss of paid Substack subscribers.
I thought about deleting it and protecting my account, but that would be self-censorship, and I did not want there to be censorship on X.
I think the opinion that young people who want to marry each other can is good and should not be censored. I think the opinion that they can do so without somebody butting in about how a 3 year age gap is really really big when you are 18 is good. I think countersignalling people who make up sadistic fantasies about young marriages and threaten to kill the young men in them is good. I asked many members of the mob why our relationship was harming them, and they said immediately I was “imprisoning” my wife or something similar. I explained that we both consented, the government consented, and her parents consented (not legally required but I asked because I am trad), so why does a mob also need to consent? And they would respond with some other fantasy. Then I would state that fact that we love each other very very much and they would say that obviously my wife, who they don’t know, is forced, because apparently no young women ever fall in love with young men. This has never happened in human history, clearly. Between these fantasies that would post wood chippers and shot guns and say they are going to murder me with them.
Strangely, none of these sick people were banned, even though sending death threats is against X rules.
Help me get unbanned?
If someone reading this knows anyone at X, message me and maybe we can get my account unbanned. I can’t submit a normal appeal, because they have locked me out, so I need to do a backdoor appeal.
I’m assuming right now that this may work, because I was likely banned by a rogue moderator.
I posted this on my Twitter account, I have a couple of Twitter employees who follow me so hopefully they’ll see it.
Did you seriously lose majority of your paid subscribers here over having a wife ~4 years younger than you and saying age of consent should be 15?
Is the long house really that long?
