The Extinction of the Dark Elves

Based high IQ people are dying out

It’s helpful to bin people into discrete categories in order to understand the severity of modern dysgenics. For a long time, I have been bothered by how polluted the public commons are. Everyone is obese, and very dumb, dumber than a lot of smart people think. And everyone is leftist. And at some point, you have to look at the endless stream of low IQ communism and think, “what if we didn’t have to share a country with these people?”

Imagine a small state with only reasonably intelligent, fit, and based people. A state where no one you meet in public has 350 lbs fat rolls hanging off of them from not taking the slightest care of their body. A state where no one lacks the reason to understand the basic reality about race differences in IQ or heritability or the need to maintain and improve the health of the gene pool. A state where there is simply no argument about insane, beyond-the-pale topics like the number of genders that there are, or what woman’s role is, or if we will allow millions of foreigners to come and replace us. Basically, a state that goes from seeing this everywhere,

To one where this is everywhere.

How can this happen? How can “we” separate from people who lack basic dignity, reason, and morality? How many of us are there?

Counting the dark elves

The first step is to define what “we” are. Then, we can be counted. This is easy enough. First, I would not like to be in a country where a substantial number of people are nonwhite. So we can begin by counting the number of white people in the world. Roughly, 800 million out of the world’s 8 billion are white. This is 10% of the world.

Next, it would seem that a good threshold for “reason” is about 120 IQ. Below this level, people tend to struggle to get a 5 on the AP Calculus or Statistics exam. Higher level math is impossible to understand; one friend of mine informally measured a sample of IQs in a real analysis course and found that sub-120 scores usually meant failure; those with As were almost always above the threshold. The folkish midwit meme also comments on this; something is qualitatively different on either side of this threshold. Assuming whites have an average IQ of 100 and an SD of 15, this is the top 10% of whites, which is 80 million people. Women have lower IQs at the 90th percentile, but we’ll be lenient so we have equal numbers of men and women. These women produce 90th percentile males anyway, like with height. We now have only 1% of the world.

But a lot of these people are leftists. It would be extremely charitable to cut half out for being too leftist. Maybe 80%. Maybe more. We’ll go with 2/3 for now. That leaves 0.33% of the population, or 53 million people.

Recognizing we’re going to need a physical society, and that some of those who remain can’t help but eat 6700 calories a day, maybe we cut out the next 25% for character or physical issues and end up with 40 million people.

Some of these thresholds could be debated over, but the true number of these people is likely in the 10s of millions, i.e. between 10 million and 99 million people. This is somewhere between 0.12% and 1.2% of the world.

As for why I call these people dark elves, I’m riffing off of Moldbug’s typology so my hyper-elitist edge can have a thin layer of irony coated over it. Moldbug speaks of hobbits, elves, dwarves and orcs; the racial cleavage gives us the hobbits and elves. The IQ cleavage gives us the elves, and the leftism cleavage gives us the dark elves. The final stage gives us the dark elves fit to start a nation.

Dark elves are a race

Race is a categorization of humans based on shared biological qualities into groups. Dark elf features are highly heritable and likely changing in frequency due to mutational load and weak selection pressures.

• Obesity is between 45% and 70% heritable.

• IQ is 60% to 80% heritable.

• Leftism is 50% to 70% heritable.

Thus, the majority of variance of these traits is explained by genetics. Some of the rest is measurement error, some is developmental noise, leaving a smaller fraction than it would seem to “culture”, or “ideas”, or whatever other systematic environmental influences there may be.

As a race, dark elves should have a homeland where they can selectively breed, free of oppressive hobbit and mutated-light-elf laws which criminalize starting a family.

Mutational load and dysgenics are driving dark elves extinct

It is possible that the rise of obesity is just mutational load. One paper finds a paternal age correlation that predicts between a .21 and .66 SD increase in obesity per generation due to mutational pressure. Observed is about .33 SDs. So, all of the observed rise of obesity can be explained by mutational pressure.

With IQ, a mutational pressure predicting a 14 to 18 point drop since about 1870 has been twice replicated.

Also, selection pressure for fat and IQ are dysgenic.¹

So not only is selection not strong enough to clean up the mutations, it’s in the wrong direction for these traits. Wow! Why can’t dark elves set up a breeding colony where this is not the case?

For leftism, as I have been posting about for months, the data suggests the story is largely the same. It’s possible to explain all of the rise of leftism with mutational pressure. The selection pressure counter-acting this is at best too weak, and furthermore it’s probably stratified by IQ; it’s all dark hobbits, not dark elves doing the “based” breeding.

How bad is the extinction?

This helpful chart gives the percent of dark elves in the world by year going back to the 19th century in the top right corner box. This was created by examining records for how white the world was by year, and by adjusting for obesity rates, IQ decline, and the rise of leftism. Because whites, high IQ people, and right wingers are going extinct, dark elves are going extinct.

Particularly, dark elves have fallen from near 10% of the world 2 centuries ago to just over 1 in 1000 people today. That’s enough to critically endanger dark elf breeding rates. Previously, more than 10% (assuming only living around whites) of a dark elf’s neighbors were fellow dark elves. Now, about 1 in 1000 neighbors are another dark elf. It is very easy to not meet 1000 neighbors in the first 18 years of living somewhere. Dark elves are stranded in the world without an intervention that geographically clusters them. Most will no longer breed, or if they do, they will racemix, if there isn’t an intervention.

Ultimately, to save dark elves, they must be physically concentrated. This means dark elves must be able to find each other by location efficiently. A dating (male-female) or networking (male-male) app for dark elves that uses genetic testing and psychometrics to show dark elves to each other by location with no danger of cancellation (since they do not need to signal based thoughts, only a test score) would be a good first step towards preventing extinction.

Once dark elves can efficiently find each other in real life, they can begin to physically cluster. Ideally, dark elves start to form towns in free places where they can be mostly undisturbed by Global Leftist Empires, with maximum local government powers. Settlements in 3rd world countries, or isolated red US states like Alaska may be preferable. The US, even though it is the center of the Global Leftist Empire, still offers considerable freedom for this type of thing compared to European states. There is religious liberty, homeschooling rights, and the right to own weapons for self and group defense.

After such a community is founded, its ultimate goal should be to achieve political liberty. The community solves the problem of dark elves being dispersed amongst the hobbits; however, in the beginning there still may be aggressive incursions upon dark elf liberties from the strong outside. The most essential liberty here is the right to practice traditional marriage. Dark elves must have the right to practice marriage as it was in the 19th century. Basically every facet of Western 19th century marriage should be restored in the Dark elf community when possible, but most importantly is freedom from outsiders paying dark elf wives to divorce dark elf husbands. I speak of the Leftist Empire’s “family courts” and their “no-fault divorce” laws, which incentivize the break up of families by paying women to separate. Ideally, a community location could be chosen where these laws are at a minimum and it is maximally easy for dark elves to achieve freedom from them.

The community must be able to control who enters it using polygenic tests and other forms of examination. Ideally, people could come as residents but not community citizens, until passing a citizenship test. Some non-dark elves could come for economic reasons, but they should be granted no political influence unless they earn citizenship. Belonging to the community should also not be by birthright; children must also pass the test to be full members of the polis.

The test could include a basic fitness test and martial competency exam, an IQ test with a threshold near 120, an ancestry test, a statistics and HBD knowledge exam, and a political PGS.

In theory, this would produce a community like Singapore, but better, with the best culture in the world and the best economy. Unlike Singapore, the mission of the community would be the reproduction of dark elves. The community must have the liberty to run a fertility program that increases the numbers of dark elves and their genetic health. With embryo selection and selective breeding, the community could go from a mean IQ of 125 to 145 or 160 in a few generations. It would be the smartest place to ever exist.

Such a place should exist. It could very well be the future of humanity. Current trends are not good. Under the alternative, the extinction of dark elves, scientific progress may halt completely. There will be no one left to fly the planes. Already, the planes are always late. Manufacturing quality is falling. At best, humanity will have a new dark age. At worst, a total extinction event, following the destruction of the dark elves.

1. The observed changes of leftism and obesity are as expected given the genetic trend. IQ is different; raw IQ scores increased by a decent amount in the 20th century. However, there is evidence that underlying general ability decreased by the amount expected. Something, maybe mass education, made people better test takers, while their reaction time still decayed.
